Ever since I was a little girl, I have had what some might call an “unhealthy” obsession with packing. Not only do I love the organization packing entails, I find it so exciting getting ready for a trip! With that being said, I like to think of myself as a packing professional, seriously if there was an actual profession off packing bags, I would change my major now!
Below I am going to be sharing my secret tips and tricks on how to make packing for your next trip a breeze! I would love to hear about how you pack in the comments below!
When it comes to packing, organization is key! When I pack, I love using little bags and containers so that everything stays clean, organized and safe. I have been using Vera Bradley cosmetic cases in all different size for the longest time and they never fail me.
When I pack my toiletries I always pack the things that can spill like shampoo/conditioner, toothpaste, and perfume in a ziplock bag before I put them in my suitcase to prevent any spilling. Life saver!
Something that I swear by is planning your outfits in advance. This allows you to make sure you love everything you pack. I have this fear that I’m going to hate everything I packed once I get to my destination, so I tend to pack half my closet. But I have gotten better at this the past few years!
Pack clothes that can be worn in multiple outfits. My friends and family would tell you that I hate re-wearing my clothes. But packing clothes that can be worn more than once saves you space in your suitcase.
A little tip that I’ve done for years is that I put a dryer sheet in with my clothes when I pack them. It helps them stay smelling fresh!
ROLL! Rolling your clothes helps prevent wrinkles and also allows more packing space in your suitcase.
Also, I never forget to pack a garbage bag! I like to have one to put all my dirty clothes in. So this way when I get home and unpack, I know what is dirty and what is clean. It makes for a lot less laundry!
